Basketball Game Preview: Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars vs. Kimball Cubs

The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars will head out to face off against the Kimball Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa took on Pine River-Backus on Friday. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa walked away with a 63-53 win over Pine River-Backus.

Meanwhile, Kimball was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Maple Lake 53-24. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Irish are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Kimball, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa was able to grind out a solid win over Kimball in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 62-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
