Softball Recap: Mountain View Drops Season-High Score on Desert Ridge

Mountain View hadn't done well against Desert Ridge recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mountain View Toros walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Desert Ridge Jaguars. The Toros' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kylynn Sylvester and Keelie Goodman did most of the damage at the plate: Sylvester fired off two home runs and five RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Goodman went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Goodman a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadlie Goodman, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5.

Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Mountain View back to even at 2-2. As for Desert Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Mountain View has already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Cibola on the 1st. As for Desert Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-3 win against Campo Verde on the 1st.
