Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Xavier Prep). They blew past the Cathedral City Lions, posting a 62-35 win. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Xavier Prep was led to victory by Travis Silva and King Pellum. Silva shot 70% from beyond the arc to rack up 21 points and five boards, while Pellum went 5-for-10 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was Pellum's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Brann, who posted five points and seven assists.

Xavier Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

When it comes to explaining why Cathedral City lost on Saturday, don't look at Jayden Wallace. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Wallace continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colston Taylor, who earned six points.

Xavier Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Cathedral City, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Xavier Prep and Cathedral City will both be playing Coachella Valley the next time they take the court. The Saints will host the Mighty Arabs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
