Basketball Recap: Excel Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Excel Academy Charter lost against O'Bryant back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Excel Academy Charter Wolves were beaten by the O'Bryant Tigers 91-37. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Tigers are ranked 66th).

When it comes to explaining why Excel Academy Charter lost, don't look at Davier Hernandez. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Perez, who scored seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Excel Academy Charter and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for O'Bryant, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Excel Academy Charter has already played their next matchup, a 52-42 win against Boston Collegiate on the 13th. As for O'Bryant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-44 victory against Tech Boston Academy on the 14th.
