Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Patriots vs. Ahoskie Christian
Heritage Christian Academy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge Ahoskie Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Heritage Christian Academy earned a 30-22 victory over Unity Christian Academy. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Heritage Christian Academy has scored all season.
Cheyenne Anderson and Rebekah Tucker were among the main playmakers for Heritage Christian Academy as the former scored 12 points and the latter scored 13 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Heritage Christian Academy's points.
Meanwhile, Ahoskie Christian had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.1 points), and they went ahead and made it 17 on Tuesday. They came out on top against Greenville Christian Academy by a score of 53-41. Given Ahoskie Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Greenville Christian Academy is ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Heritage Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Ahoskie Christian, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-1.
Heritage Christian Academy was taken down by Ahoskie Christian 73-38 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ahoskie Christian's Morgan Wadsworth, who scored 37 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Now that Heritage Christian Academy knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
