Softball Game Preview: Corona del Mar Sea Kings vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

Corona del Mar is 0-6 against Los Alamitos since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sea Kings will look to defend their home field against the Griffins at 3:15 p.m. Los Alamitos took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Corona del Mar, who comes in off a win.

Corona del Mar's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Portola by a score of 4-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Sea Kings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Kiera Madan, who gave up just six hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Portola off the board.

On the hitting side, Makenna Smith was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

Los Alamitos had taken Huntington Beach down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Griffins fell 9-4 to the Oilers. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Corona del Mar's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Los Alamitos, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
