Basketball Recap: Kendall Schrock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond over Mt. Pulaski

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond lost against Mt. Pulaski back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights fell 52-44 to the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Schrock, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Schrock has posted since back in December of 2024. Colin Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season. As for Mt. Pulaski, they pushed their record up to 13-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will take on Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is facing Heritage at the right time seeing as Heritage is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mt. Pulaski, they will square off against Calvary at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Mt. Pulaski likes a good challenge.
