Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ganado walked away with it. They came out on top against the Flatonia Bulldogs by a score of 5-1 on Friday. The Indians are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 17 straight.

Saylor Bures spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Faith Palacios, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Madisyn Weempe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ganado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flatonia only managed five hits.

Ganado pushed their record up to 30-5-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Flatonia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-12-1.

As of now, neither Ganado nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
