Soccer Recap: Mendota's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

After soaring to seven goals the game before, Mendota was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of the Washington Panthers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Mendota can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Washington are ranked 12th).

Mendota's goal came courtesy of Johan Cortez, who's now up to 23 this season.
