Softball Recap: Hackley Wins Going Away Against Spence

It's playoff time, and Hackley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Spence Sabers with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ellie Firsenbaum was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Brigid Doherty also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hackley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Hackley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Hackley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Fieldston on the 19th. Spence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
