Baseball Recap: Layton Comes Up Short

Layton and Mountain Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Layton had to settle for second. They fell 5-0 to the Sentinels. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Lancers haven't been shut out since back in March.

Layton is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-9.

While Layton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
