Softball Recap: Milford Takes Down Panguitch in a Playoff Battle

Milford had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Panguitch Bobcats 9-8. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Jaidyn McMullin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. McMullin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paizlee Florence, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mckinlee Curtis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.

Milford's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Panguitch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

As of now, neither Milford nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
