Central Private took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Ascension Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Central Private Redhawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Ascension Christian 9-7. Winning may never get old, but the Redhawks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Central Private pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Ascension Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5-1 record this season.

Central Private will head out to take on Maurepas at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ascension Christian, they will welcome St. John at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
