Lake Brantley and Winter Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Patriots will welcome the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Lake Brantley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Deltona get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lake Brantley got a great performance from Elijah Guzman as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Guzman has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Justus Mike, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Mauger, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Lake Brantley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deltona struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Winter Springs entered their tilt with Timber Creek on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Wolves 13-5. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Alex Dameron was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jackson Swann, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Winter Springs pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Brantley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-8-1 record.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lake Brantley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Winter Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
