Mater Dei Catholic is 8-2 against Sweetwater since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Crusaders will host the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. Mater Dei Catholic will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Mater Dei Catholic is returning to their home field after beating Otay Ranch on theirs, despite the fact Otay Ranch has dominated at home this season. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-2. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by just one run.

Colton Gregg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Mater Dei Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaij Ordaz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Sweetwater came up short against Hilltop on Friday and fell 4-1.

Mater Dei Catholic's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sweetwater, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Mater Dei Catholic took their win against Sweetwater in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 22-6 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
