Baseball Game Preview: Fountain Central Mustangs vs. Bethesda Christian Patriots

The Fountain Central Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Bethesda Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fountain Central has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bethesda Christian will arrive with four straight victories.

Fountain Central lost 13-5 to Parke Heritage on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bethesda Christian made easy work of Faith Christian on Saturday and carried off a 20-13 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bethesda Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Fountain Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Fountain Central might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Bethesda Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
