Volleyball Recap: Brownsburg Falls Despite Big Games from Owen Ellis and Will Gehring

Brownsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Center Grove Trojans. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 25-11, 25-20.

Will Gehring and Owen Ellis certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Gehring had 12 digs, while Ellis had ten digs and seven kills. Gehring has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played.

Brownsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Center Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-1 record this season.

Brownsburg has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Fishers on the 30th. As for Center Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Franklin Central on the 30th.
