Basketball Recap: El Rancho Dons vs. Katella Knights
El Rancho was the 50-46 winner over Katella when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The El Rancho Dons were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 46-45 to the Katella Knights.
Several Dons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Rivas, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Barajas, who posted 12 points.
It was another big night for Dillon Curtis, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine boards for Katella. Those 27 points gave Curtis a new career-high. Joseph Damian was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.
El Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Katella, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
