Softball Recap: Slippery Rock Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Slippery Rock's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Jamestown Muskies on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rockets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Joslyn Korcok spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered nine runs (all of which were unearned) on 15 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Slippery Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Jamestown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
