Recap: Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles vs. Gray's Creek Bears
The Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles's and the Gray's Creek Bears's contest on Monday was close at halftime, but the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles turned on the heat in the second half with 47 points. Cape Fear Christian Academy was the clear victor by a 82-62 margin over Gray's Creek. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Zeke Brock continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 41 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Chestnut, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Gray's Creek still got an impressive performance from Deante Wike, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wike scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Zeek Reed, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cape Fear Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-8. As for Gray's Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Fear Christian Academy will take on Lee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 444 points over their last six matchups. As for Gray's Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South View at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Monday.
