Poly entered their tilt with Coppin Academy with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Poly took their matchup at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 63-11 win over Coppin Academy. Given Poly's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Coppin Academy is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mickelle Lowry, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Lowry continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of London Elliot, who scored five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, City College's and Patterson's matchup on Wednesday was close at halftime, but City College turned on the heat in the second half with 40 points. City College simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Patterson 60-31 at home.
Poly's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for City College, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
