Softball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Credo Gryphon

The Willits Wolverines will square off against the Credo Gryphon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Willits' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.

On Tuesday, Willits got the win against Tomales by a conclusive 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 12 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Credo unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 17-7 to Healdsburg. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Gryphon have suffered since March 30th.

Aliana Martinez and Harper Malone did some serious damage despite the final result: Martinez went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Malone went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Miela Beeton, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Willits pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Credo, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Everything went Willits' way against Credo in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Willits made off with a 13-3 win. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gryphon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
