Volleyball Recap: Covenant Day Falls Despite Big Games from Duh Mang and Ben Keefer

It was a proper cat-fight when Covenant Day faced off against Union Academy on Saturday. Covenant Day fell just short of Union Academy by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Covenant Day started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 15-8.

Ben Keefer and Duh Mang certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Keefer had 19 assists and seven digs, while Mang had 12 digs. Keefer has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 13 times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Covenant Day fell to 4-1. As for Union Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coincidentally, Covenant Day and Union Academy will both be playing East Mecklenburg the next time they take the court. Union Academy will host East Mecklenburg at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, while Covenant Day will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
