Softball Recap: Greendale Triumphs

Greendale won against Pius XI Catholic on Monday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with a 14-9 win over the Pewaukee Pirates. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Abby Brinkman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lyla Gibson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greendale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Greendale and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Pewaukee, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Greendale has already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against New Berlin West on the 17th. As for Pewaukee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against Wisconsin Lutheran on the 17th.
