Football Recap: Delvecchio Alston Ii and Zach Benedict Secure Win for Hewitt-Trussville + How To Watch

Hewitt-Trussville won the last time they faced Oak Mountain and things went their way on Friday too. The Huskies enjoyed a cozy 36-21 win over the Eagles. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Eagles are ranked 42nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Hewitt-Trussville to victory were Zach Benedict and Delvecchio Alston Ii. Benedict threw for 198 yards and one touchdown, while Alston Ii gained 129 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, Benedict racked up 26 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August.

Hewitt-Trussville's defense stepped up as well, laying out Charlie Vacarella four times. De'Narrius Crawford was especially locked on to Oak Mountain's QB and sacked him three times. Crawford is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kasen Lemons, who picked up 156 receiving yards and one TD. Vacarella was another key player, throwing for 239 yards and one touchdown.

Hewitt-Trussville's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Oak Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
