Norwalk is 9-1 against Newton since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Norwalk Warriors will square off against the Newton Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Norwalk is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Norwalk is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Kennedy on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Norwalk was outmatched by Kennedy and fell 70-41. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Cougars are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, Newton came up short against Oskaloosa on Friday and fell 55-45.

Norwalk's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Norwalk beat Newton 52-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norwalk since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
