Basketball Game Preview: Rome Wolves vs. South Paulding Spartans

The Rome Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the South Paulding Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Rome had to suffer through a 89-61 loss at the hands of New Manchester.

Meanwhile, South Paulding had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 72-62. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Wildcats are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Paulding has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Rome, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Rome beat South Paulding 54-47 in their previous meeting on January 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rome since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
