It's playoff time, and Sanger had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Ferris Yellowjackets on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-6 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Abby Chapmond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Paige Child was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Bassham, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Sanger, bringing their record up to 20-10-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Ferris, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 22-11 record.
As of now, neither Sanger nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
