Preview: Meigs Marauders vs. Wellston Golden Rockets
Meigs is 9-1 against Wellston since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Meigs Marauders will be home for the holidays to greet the Wellston Golden Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Meigs is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wellston in Ohio (Meigs is ranked 314th, while Wellston is ranked 762nd).
Last Friday, Meigs had just enough and edged Nelsonville-York out 52-49. 52 seems to be a good number for Meigs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Wellston pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 77-63 fall against New Hope Christian Academy.
Meigs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wellston, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Meigs beat Wellston 56-49 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Meigs repeat their success, or does Wellston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
