For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Ottumwa and Des Moines East meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Scarlets 12-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 on Thursday.

Ottumwa's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Des Moines East, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Ottumwa has already played their next matchup, a 6-3 defeat against Washington on the 30th. As for Des Moines East, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Urbandale on the 30th.
