Wesson extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Damarion Smith. The Cobras blew past the Lawrence County Cougars, posting a 36-7 win for which the team can thank Smith, who picked up 127 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 64 yards.

Wesson's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lawrence County, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Wesson will take on Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Cobras their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lawrence County, they will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
