Baseball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Menlo School Knights

Las Lomas will take on Menlo School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Las Lomas sitting on four straight wins and Menlo School on nine.

Las Lomas is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Clear Lake.

The team relied heavily on Jack Foscalina, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison May, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Menlo School had just enough and edged out Monterey 5-4 on Thursday.

Reid Plamondon tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Menlo School's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Liam Widner, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Widner has posted since back in March. Another was Fletcher Cahill, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Las Lomas pushed their record up to 16-11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Menlo School, their victory bumped their record up to 21-8.
