Basketball Recap: Friends Academy Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Friends Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Eyan Valadez. The Friends Academy Quakers secured a 50-46 W over the North Shore Vikings on Thursday thanks in part to Valadez, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Another player making a difference was Chase O'Brien, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

Friends Academy pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for North Shore, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Friends Academy will head out to square off against Floral Park Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Friends Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for North Shore, they will look to defend their home court on January 17th against Lawrence at 7:00 p.m.
