Basketball Recap: Gross Catholic Takes a Loss

Gross Catholic lost against Bishop Neumann back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Gross Catholic Cougars and the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers didn't end well, with the Gross Catholic Cougars falling 59-44. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 53rd).

Gross Catholic dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bishop Neumann, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gross Catholic will welcome Arlington on Tuesday. As for Bishop Neumann, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boys Town at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
