Morenci beats Sabino for their third straight win

Recap: Morenci Wildcats vs. Sabino Sabercats

The Morenci Wildcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 win over Sabino.

Morenci got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tristen Sanchez out in front who picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Seballos, who threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Sabino still got an impressive performance from Cameron Hackworth, who threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Morenci's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sabino, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.

Morenci will head out on the road to face off against Thatcher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thatcher will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Sabino will take on Mohave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mohave will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
