Spring suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2024 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 53-26 loss at the hands of the Nimitz Cougars. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

It was another big night for Aniah Richard, who went 10 for 21 on her way to 29 points and eight steals for Nimitz. The game was Richard's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Hubbard, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 17-17. As for Nimitz, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 23-8.

Spring and Nimitz should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Spring will take on Aldine at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 855 places (656 vs. 1511). Similarly, Nimitz (ranked 331st) will meet Dekaney (ranked 1156th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
