Wetumpka waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Baker Hornets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on Friday.

Sophie Arant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lily Davenport was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Wetumpka's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Wetumpka has already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Springville on the 1st. As for Baker, they will take on Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairhope's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Baker's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
