Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Dequincy's 12th in Last 14 Outings

DeQuincy won the last time they faced Hackberry and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 17 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Grant Rainwater looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Carson Rainwater was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diron Valentine, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

DeQuincy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hackberry only posted an OBP of .389.

DeQuincy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Hackberry, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Looking ahead, DeQuincy will take on Hornbeck at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hackberry, they will challenge Welsh at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Greyhounds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
