Baseball Recap: 18 Straight Home Victories for East Mountain

It's playoff time, and East Mountain had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Santa Fe Indian Braves on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Timberwolves as they're now sitting on four straight.

Aidan Madrid was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Charles Birdwell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for East Mountain: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Zane Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

East Mountain's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Santa Fe Indian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

East Mountain will square off against Robertson at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight. Santa Fe Indian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
