Basketball Recap: Verde Valley Comes Up Short

Verde Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 57-22 defeat at the hands of American Heritage Academy. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-28 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Verde Valley still got an impressive performance from Peter Heller, who posted eight points.

Verde Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for American Heritage Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Verde Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-15 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 17th. As for American Heritage Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Orme at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th.
