Coral Reef has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Carol City Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Coral Reef posted their biggest victory since December 11, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against JC Bermudez Doral as Coral Reef made off with a 80-55 victory.
Nathaniel Wesley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Ashton Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Carol City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Goleman 77-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Carol City.
Mikaili Taylor was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 24 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jahquori Lombrage, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Coral Reef's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Carol City, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Monday's match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Wesley and Lombrage. Wesley has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 15.6 points and 3.4 rebounds. For his part, Lombrage has averaged 12.1 points and 4.3 rebounds.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Coral Reef have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 11.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Carol City struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 12.1 rebounds per game.
