Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Rebels vs. Newberry Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Mid-Carolina Rebels unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Newberry 70-39. Mid-Carolina has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Mid-Carolina's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Myers, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Clark, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Mid-Carolina's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12. As for Newberry, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Abbeville the next time they take the court. Mid-Carolina will host the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
