Softball Recap: Bear Lake Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bear Lake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the American Falls Beavers 6-5. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Brooklynn Crockett spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peyten Crockett, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Pope, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bear Lake pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for American Falls, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.

Coincidentally, Bear Lake and American Falls will both be playing Preston the next time they take the field. The Beavers will host the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bears will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
