Football Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Elmwood-Murdock had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers 58-14 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four matchups by 44 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Brody Marsh, who rushed for 203 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dashiell Coleman, who rushed for 90 yards.

Elmwood-Murdock's run defense was locked in: Bancroft-Rosalie could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Ryerson Kastens for the heroic effort on defense: he. Elmwood-Murdock didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.

Elmwood-Murdock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Clayton Fletcher.

Despite the loss, Bancroft-Rosalie still got an impressive performance from Braylon Wegner, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wegner also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because the Panthers are 3-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Elmwood-Murdock, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.6 points over those games. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Elmwood-Murdock will head out to face off against Lawrence-Nelson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. Bancroft-Rosalie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
