Football Recap: Brookfield Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Brookfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Hubbard Eagles and fell 42-0. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 49-19 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hubbard's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Braydon Songer and Michael Hazimihalis. Songer rushed for 145 yards and three scores on only six carries while Hazimihalis gained 145 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Hazimihalis a new career-high in receiving yards (86).

Looking ahead, Brookfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hubbard, they are taking a road trip to square off against Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
