Volleyball Recap: Pine Forge Academy Extends Winning Streak to Six

Pine Forge Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Life Center Academy Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Pine Forge Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-21.

Justin Fluker was the offensive standout of the contest as he had eight digs and three aces. Those eight digs gave him a new career-high.

Fluker wasn't the only good server: Pine Forge Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Pine Forge Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Life Center Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Forge Academy will challenge Mastery at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Life Center Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Girard College at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
