Volleyball Recap: Gresham Community's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of three wins, Gresham Community's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-County Penguins. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Penguins from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

While Gresham Community had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19.

Lizzy May paced Gresham Community's offense, picking up five kills. May got some help from Grace Haffner and her six assists. May was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Gresham Community now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Tri-County, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Gresham Community will play host again on Saturday to welcome Faith Christian Academy, where the match is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. As for Tri-County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Bowler at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
