Softball Game Preview: Angola Hornets vs. Lakeland Lakers

Angola is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Lakeland a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Angola Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Lakeland Lakers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Angola's offense. They fell 4-0 to Central Noble on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Hornets were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Lakeland also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Fremont by a score of 7-4.

Rylee Amsden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kaia McNamara was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Angola's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Angola suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Lakeland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
