Baseball Recap: Mountain View Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Shining Light Baptist Academy

Mountain View Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Shining Light Baptist Academy on Tuesday, but Shining Light Baptist Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Sharks. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kyle Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Joshua Owens was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Kaden Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Mountain View Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mountain View Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Shining Light Baptist Academy, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Mountain View Christian Academy will be playing at home against Lake Lure Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
