Gardena moved up to 319 from 365 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Marine. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Banning 23-17.

Narbonne extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating San Pedro, 28-7. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.

Raysean Wight was the best wideout in the league this week as Gardena bested the Pilots. Wight tallied six receptions for 104 yards. Tyree Simmons helped Gardena's passing attack out by catching one ball for 51 yards.

Simmons was the most productive running back in Marine this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 182 yards as the Panthers topped Banning. Teammate Marshon Newsome added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.

Phil Johnson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Gardena bested Tim McTyer's team. He completed 14 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown and also ran for one yards.

Troy Williams put up the best numbers through the air as Narbonne beat the Pirates. He finished with 11 completions for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Williams' favorite target this week was Tony Gates, who caught two passes for 44 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Johnson and Simmons the Panthers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Johnson leads the league in passing with 1355 yards, while Simmons has rushed for 1087 yards this season. Manuel Douglas' team's A.J. Richardson leads the league in receiving yards with 423 on 28 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when George Washington Prep takes on the Gauchos. As it stands, the Generals are in fourth, while Narbonne is in first.

Gardena made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,901 from 4,524. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 23-17 victory over the Pilots last week.
